POSITION SUMMARY: Proficient in Aerospace or Aerospace derivative TIG Welding, which at times may include utilization of an inert chamber. Responsible for performing welding operations in accordance with all listed specifications.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Ability to use, read and interpret precision measuring equipment is required.
  • Strong communication skills; able to interact at all levels.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Must follow production specifications.
  • Maintain department safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Use of tracking systems.
  • Maintain and promote "One Chromalloy" Core Values.
  • Maintain and promote 5S standards in the work area.
  • Adhere to and promote Company health, safety and environmental policies while performing job duties.
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:


The specific EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE requirements of this position are:




  • Able to read/write in English
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completed a TIG welding program or equivalent experience.


The specific LICENSES and/or CERTIFICATIONS required for this position are:




  • Ability to be certified to AWS-D171:2001.
  • Must pass applicable vision test.



The specific SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE required for this position are:


LEVEL 1:



  • Perform basic equipment set up and configuration.
  • Identify the proper tools to be used for each job.
  • Run basic welding functions.
  • Read and understand welding specifications.
  • Must be able to verify dimensions and alignment with measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
  • Must be able to read and understand sketches and description of parts to be worked on or replaced.


LEVEL 2:



  • All level 1 tasks.
  • Must be able to perform unique builds/repairs.
  • Do basic Trouble Shooting.
  • Perform basic welding tasks with little to no guidance or oversight.
  • Efficient time management to operate multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
