Responsible for performing welding operations in accordance with manufacturing specifications.




Welder Duties:



  • Perform welding activities, following written instructions independently.
  • Interpret drawings and applicable technical data to use in repairs.
  • Prepare parts for welding by grinding, machining, and belt sanding.
  • Documenting travelers after operations performed.
  • Maintain production standards/quality.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ensures compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements.
  • Use calibrated instruments and tooling to perform critical measurements.
  • Operate tungsten inert gas, metallic inert gas and other types of welding machines as required.
  • Operate oxy-acetylene torch to cut, braze, weld, and solder.
  • Operate spot welder.
  • Maintain certification required to weld applicable alloy.
  • Comply with all applicable regulatory, customer, and safety requirements.
  • Must be able to pass an Eye Examination specifically for welders.
  • Embrace/implement continuous improvement and lean principles in all activities
  • Maintain department safety and housekeeping standards
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards




Qualifications



  • Ability to perform qualification welds on 0.040" thick materials in accordance with AWS D17.1 for both fillet and groove welds
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to accurately interpret blueprints
  • Ability to accurately interpret work in-process documents
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have performed welding in a manufacturing industry


  • Ability to perform frequent lifting, pulling, and pushing.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:



  • Determine repair requirements based on Traveler and drawing operations.
  • Weld parts that are certified by X-ray (RT) and make necessary adjustments to correct any deficiency.
  • Install fabricated details onto assemblies & sub-assemblies and inspect for proper fit prior to welding.
  • Perform necessary layout work to accomplish job.
  • Make necessary adjustments to welding equipment to ensure satisfactory weld(s).
  • Produce components within industry requirements and standards.
  • Perform other duties as company workload dictates.
