A Bridge Engineering Student will perform various tasks within the bridge department that may entail special project assignments and/or active involvement in bridge safety inspection projects. Working Conditions Work is a combination of active and sedentary dependent upon the Market Sector/Service Line's schedule. While in the office, work is sedentary. The office work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated. Time spent in the office for this position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending and lifting of minimal weight. Bridge inspection in the field is often spent outdoors with varying terrain and all types of weather. Field work may involve times outside normal working hours (night-time) and on weekends.
