As a Senior Electrical Controls Technician, you'll be fully qualified to monitor and maintain station electrical systems, unit control systems, and auxiliary equipment controls. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently while ensuring safe and reliable operations. For the first few years, you will perform shiftwork in solution mining caverns, supporting critical operations in a dynamic environment. If this sounds like you, apply today! What You Will Do:
Maintain electrical systems and equipment, including switchgear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans. Maintain DC electrical systems and equipment such as batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters. Maintain station and unit-level electrical control systems and components (PLCs, HMIs, control networks). Maintain end devices for control systems, including motor controls, pressure transmitters, switches, sensors, solenoids, and actuators. Maintain safety systems and components such as ESD panels, gas detectors, flame detectors, and manual activation switches. Direct other qualified employees in routine electrical controls-related activities. Assist in planning work and contribute budget-related information as required. Perform work in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (PHMSA, EPA, NFPA 70 NEC). Complete reports accurately and participate in audits and safety programs. Work collaboratively with team members and maintain a safe work environment.
Who You Are: You Have:
Associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent education and/or experience. Minimum of five years of directly relevant training and experience. Valid Commercial Driver's License. Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, shiftwork, on-call, and travel overnight as required. Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and working in all weather conditions. Must reside or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned location.
Preferred:
Desire to learn and advance as an Electrical Controls Technician. Working knowledge of operations used in maintenance of electrical systems and controls. Experience with instrumentation and electrical work in industrial environments.
