As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our station systems and equipment. This position requires expert-level knowledge of Cat 3600 engines, Waukesha units, and auxiliary equipment, and you will assist Operations by performing shiftwork in solution mining caverns during the initial years. When Cavern Development begins you will be required to work shift work during this time period, assisting in your trade along with assisting operations. What You Will Do:

  • Ensure proper operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of station systems, including air systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, gas compression, and prime movers.

  • Maintain and repair Cat 3600 engines, Waukesha units, and auxiliary equipment to ensure reliable operations.

  • Perform routine and complex mechanical tasks independently and provide guidance to less experienced employees.

  • Assist Operations with shiftwork in solution mining caverns during the initial assignment period.

  • Complete reports accurately and participate in audits and safety programs.

  • Support planning and budgeting processes for maintenance and capital projects.

  • Work in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (PHMSA, EPA) through adherence to SOPs and O&M manuals.

  • Actively participate in safety programs and foster a collaborative team environment.

Who You Are:

You Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of five years of directly relevant mechanical experience.

  • Mastery of Cat 3600 engines, Waukesha units, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or technical certification.

  • Desire to learn and advance as a Mechanical Technician.

  • Working knowledge of pipeline operations and maintenance practices.

  • Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced employees.

Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.

  • Safety-sensitive role requiring adherence to company and regulatory standards.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required.

  • Must reside or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the facility.

  • Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
