Job Summary


The Clinical Team Lead provides clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for the Crisis Response and Bridge Clinic. This role supports the delivery of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equity-centered behavioral health services to youth and families referred from the Emergency Department (ED), primary care, and other acute care settings.

The Clinical Team Lead ensures high-quality, equity-centered care, provides clinical supervision and mentoring, supports team-based crisis response, and advances system-level coordination across the continuum from acute medical care to outpatient follow-up.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Salary Range: $45.21 to $96.65 (Hourly)

Department Description

Behavioral health care services at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals emphasize a collaborative family centered approach and interface with all systems of care that serve children birth to 21. We are committed to delivering culturally accountable, evidence based, and trauma informed behavioral health care to the children in our community, including those with the highest risk and need, and those who are marginalized or underserved. Behavioral health care services aim to be the premier behavioral health care institution for children in northern California, with proficiency in clinical care, training, research and evaluation and policy. The Bridge Clinic offers short-term, stabilization-focused care (typically up to 6-12 weeks) designed to address acute needs, reduce ED utilization, and facilitate successful connection to ongoing community services.

Required Qualifications


  • Master's or doctoral degree in related area.
  • Licensed in behavioral health discipline.
  • Advanced skill providing individual, group and family cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and ethical standards associated with profession.
  • Advanced knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication. Demonstrated active listening, persuasion and counseling skills.
  • Advanced skills in collaborating with heath care providers in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and EHR systems used in behavioral health clinics / clinical departments.
  • Experience supervising clinical staff or providing clinical leadership in high-acuity settings.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Demonstrated training in crisis assessment, brief therapy, trauma-informed engagement, and safety planning.
  • 3-5 years of experience in acute behavioral health, crisis intervention, integrated behavioral health, or short-term outpatient services.
  • Prior experience in crisis services, integrated primary care behavioral health, ED consult models, or short-term stabilization clinics.
  • Familiarity with Medi-Cal documentation requirements, EPSDT, and county behavioral health system
  • Bilingual/multilingual skills.

License/Certification


  • Licensed in behavioral health discipline.
