Hours: 12-hour shift -7:00am to 7:00pm

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center- Kansas City, MO

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Deliver high-quality, immediate patient care by utilizing training to administer basic life support, stabilize patients, and respond swiftly to medical emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Perform detailed patient assessments to evaluate vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, ensuring timely identification of urgent needs and accurate communication with the healthcare team
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to contribute to an integrated care approach, promoting continuity and efficiency in patient treatment plans
  • Assist in triaging patients upon arrival by assessing the severity of their condition and supporting decisions on prioritization of care based on clinical protocols
  • Maintain precise and thorough documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR), supporting legal compliance and clinical continuity
  • Inspect and manage emergency medical equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality, cleanliness, and availability, contributing to a safe and prepared emergency care environment


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant/ EMT certificate upon hire, required.
  • Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
  • Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
