Job Purpose:

This position is located in Anchorage and may require occasional travel to the North Slope. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided.

In this role, the Project Engineer will interact with Worley's Fabrication and/or Construction crews, clients, and project management team to support the planning and execution of our projects. The role with also interface and collaborate on projects with our Engineering partner on EPC projects.

This position is contingent upon the Company's successful win of the project award and receipt of notice to proceed from the client. We anticipate hearing a status update in January 2026.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive, promote and instill a culture of "Safety Leadership" that is incident and injury free and in which all employees feel responsible for safety and pursue it on a daily basis.

  • Review and estimate scopes of work and drawings packages

  • Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, budgets, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various commissioning phases of a project

  • Manage a team of field engineers to ensure the technical requirements of the project are met

  • Collaborate with the project management team to plan, schedule, and execute the scope of work safely and efficiently

  • Maintain a basic understanding and knowledge of the terms and conditions of contracts, including the scope of work and associated client deliverables.

  • Manage work in accordance with project goals, contract and customer requirements and expectations, including performance, quality, compliance and safety as outlined in the contract terms and conditions.

  • Evaluates risk, consequences and impacts of activities on customers, projects and individuals. Maintain the project risk register as needed.
    Support the organization-wide approach to continuous improvement (CI) by working to improve processes, procedures and systems through CI initiatives, measurement and evaluation

  • Track project actions and capture meeting minutes, and distribute to project team

  • Ensure all project materials have been procured and are staged for installation. Work with the procurement department to obtain any short materials

  • Create field work packages for the craft foremen to execute the work from

  • Produce hydrotest plans, lift plans, and other technical documents as necessary

  • Assemble system completion packages and facilitate project turnover

  • Estimate change scope and assemble change notices for submission to the client

  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems, produce and submit RFIs as required

  • Coordinate and/or attend design, construction, start-up, commissioning and qualification meetings

  • Submit weekly and daily reports to client, interfacing with craft superintendents and foremen on the report contents

  • Maintain current revision drawing packages, and redline drawings, as applicable

  • Strong computer skills, including experience with estimating software, document management, and field sketching

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate and execute high priority jobs in a timely manner that involve multiple crafts (drillsite operation, general maintenance, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, electrical, etc.)
  • Ability and knowledge to interpret civil, structural, and piping design drawings, including P&IDs, as well as electrical diagrams
  • Knowledge of technical and safety policies, procedures and standards applicable to industrial construction, including welding.
  • Ability to communicate clear direction to work crew leads, craft persons, management, and client representatives
  • Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers; and demonstrate commitment to established safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to direct and motivate others in planning and scheduling work execution
  • Ability to recognize and correct gaps in the safe execution of construction work scopes
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead construction crews
  • Possess strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to estimate construction efforts with a high degree of reliability
  • Ability to analyze project costs and revenue, and influence positive change to the financial performance of the project

  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear. (Prudhoe Bay, Alaska is a remote Arctic work environment)
  • Must stand throughout evaluation.
  • Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3-minute step test.
  • Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.
  • Lift 25 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  • Lift 25 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  • Carry 25 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of experience with BS or MS in an engineering or construction management, or twelve (12) years in supervisory position if from craft ranks, required
  • Three plus (3+) years North Slope Experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC).Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
  • Alaska residents preferred
