Workiva is seeking a decisive and execution-focused product leader to define and drive the next chapter of our Sustainability Management product portfolio, which brings together industry-leading capabilities in Sustainability Reporting and Carbon Management in a unified, data-first experience.

As the Senior Director of Product Management, Sustainability, you'll drive clarity and pace across product strategy, build a high-performance team, and deliver the capabilities that power our customers' sustainability success globally. As a key leader on the sustainability team, this involves directing people and product direction for our major investments in sustainability, helping us grow our customers, delight users, and work cross-functionally in engineering, Design/UX and research to achieve our business objectives.

This is a pivotal moment for Workiva and for the sustainability technology market. You'll be responsible for driving market-defining innovation while ensuring day-to-day execution excellence-balancing ambition with delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in high-velocity environments, leads through influence, and knows how to translate vision into measurable business outcomes.

What You'll Do

Product Strategy and Roadmap

  • Represent the voice of the sustainability customer across the organization

  • Identify high-value problems and use cases across sustainability, finance, and operations teams

  • Stay updated with industry trends, market demands, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and ensure our product offerings remain competitive and innovative

  • Translate customer, market, and regulatory shifts into crisp product strategy and actionable priorities

  • Accelerate growth by leading the design and development of product capabilities to increase retention, reduce churn, and acquire new customers

  • Define the product roadmap and prioritize initiatives based on business objectives and customer needs

  • Define clear product requirements and collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and timely delivery of new features and enhancements

  • Manage the product life cycle, from ideation to launch, and ensure seamless integration of new features and enhancements into the platform

  • Measure success relentlessly-using data, feedback, and outcomes to inform iteration and scale.

Team Development and Management

  • Build a high-performing team known for clarity, accountability, and pace. Coach with intent, set a high bar for product craft, and foster a culture where urgency and excellence coexist

  • Conduct regular product reviews and analyze product performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with peers in Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to align on strategic goals and drive cohesive execution

  • Align with the product management team, inform stakeholders of strategy and goals, and collaborate with product marketing on go-to-market strategy

  • Work closely with the product leadership team to align the product roadmap with the overall company vision and objectives

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in product management or a closely related field

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

  • Proven success building and scaling B2B enterprise software products, ideally in data, workflow, or reporting domains

  • Experience leading teams and products across multiple regions (North America, EMEA, APAC) and navigating complex customer ecosystems

  • The ability to work successfully in a high-energy, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years direct people management experience preferred, including leading directors and managers in product organization

  • Knowledge of sustainability and ESG frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, CSRD, SEC Climate Rule, IFRS S1/S2)

  • Experience unifying or evolving complex product portfolios to create coherent customer experiences

  • Deep understanding of data management, analytics, or disclosure software. We prefer candidates with experience in sustainability, ESG, or compliance domains

  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs, regulatory dynamics, and business trends into differentiated product strategy

  • Proven experience driving outbound product management-partnering with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to translate product value into market success and revenue growth

  • MBA preferred

  • Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated strength in outbound product leadership, aligning product strategy with go-to-market execution to accelerate adoption, influence positioning, and enable commercial success

  • Expertise in product development from inception to market

Travel Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Up to 25% travel

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office

How You'll Be Rewarded

Salary range in the US: $203,000.00 - $325,000.00

A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
