Your Job

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate, reliable, and efficient inventory management across the gypsum warehouse. This role supports daily shipping operations (truck and rail), maintains product flow visibility, conducts cycle counts, reconciles SAP/MES data, and helps optimize warehouse utilization. The Inventory Coordinator plays a key role in timely inventory information, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate:
$24.00/hour

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (rotating weekend when needed for warehouse count)


What You Will Do

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts for all gypsum board SKUs
  • Reconcile physical counts to SAP/MES data and research discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate inventory
  • Track MSF totals by shift/day/week for operational reporting
  • Support annual physical inventory and audit preparation
  • Work with Shipping Manager and Supervisor to maintain optimal warehouse layout and product flow
  • Track warehouse capacity and communicate constraints in advance
  • Map and plot warehouse efficiently
  • Ensure inventory accuracy to support efficient truck and rail loading
  • Assist with rail product staging, center-beam loading inventory, and boxcar material tracking
  • Communicate low inventory levels or product shortages to shipping/production leads
  • Support dwell-time reduction by ensuring inventory is staged, visible, and accurate prior to loading
  • Enter, review, and validate SAP postings related to: goods movements, adjustments, count reconciliation, and rail/truck shipment confirmations
  • Assist teams with Catalyst/SAP visibility during shipping operations
  • Identify and report systemic issues in SAP/MES integration
  • Produce daily inventory reports for leadership (MSF shipped, product availability, variances)
  • Communicate inventory gaps, errors, or discrepancies quickly and accurately
  • Support shipping meeting updates with inventory status and risk flags
  • Partner closely with Production, Paint Line, Shipping, and Rail teams
  • Promote and model Human & Organizational Performance (HOP)
  • Comply with all forklift/mobile equipment rules and maintain situational awareness
  • Report near misses, unsafe conditions, and product quality issues
  • Participate in SML walkthroughs, OPL reviews, and safety training
  • Stewardship of product, warehouse assets, and customer expectations
  • Perform tasks such as walking, standing, and climbing stairs throughout the warehouse, lifting up to 50 lbs in a non-climate-controlled environment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 1-3 years of inventory, warehouse, or shipping experience (manufacturing preferred)
  • SAP, MES, or inventory experience
  • Experience working in Excel (basic formulas) and Microsoft Office

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with gypsum products or building materials
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-volume shipping operations
  • Experience with rail operations
  • Understanding of PBM (Principle-Based Management)
