Supervisor, Maintenance ( Mid Shift)

General Purpose:

Responsible for daily maintenance activities and developing, implementing and managing Preventive Maintenance activities. Directly supervises all maintenance employees within the Plant. Responsible for Parts storeroom and inventory of spare parts and supplies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supervises assigned maintenance department employees within the Plant.
  • Responsible for daily maintenance activities and reliable operation of Plant equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and administering Plant Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Food safety and regulatory responsibilities, and responsible for meeting the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing, and shall report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Responsible for staffing and maintaining spare parts inventory store room.
  • Ensure safe work practices of maintenance employees and that OEM safe work practices are followed.
  • Facilitate transition of Engineering Projects to Operations.
  • Resolve equipment breakdown issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate files for regulatory and environmental compliance.
  • Supervise housekeeping issues for department.
  • Work with various equipment manufacturers to become knowledgeable of all equipment within the facility.
  • Other duties and tasks when necessary


Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience



  • 5 plus years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
  • At least 2 - 3 years of experience in supervision.

  • Ability to problem solve using the combined talents of various individuals within the Dairy Farmers of America organization.
  • Excellent team building skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to interact in a positive way with all personnel within Dairy Farmers of America and with our customers.
  • Understanding and knowledge of PLC's and ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of various Microsoft Office programs, Projects and AutoCAD.
  • Better Process School beneficial
