Job Summary:

The Operator I is responsible to safely and efficiently assist in packaging quality products in a manner that is consistent with HP Hood LLC standards. The Operator I will be proficient /qualified as a Filler Operator and/or Line Leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform all tasks and functions related to operating and cleaning filling and packaging equipment.
  • Daily operation of multiple high-speed filling and packaging machines in a production setting to include the startup, shutdown, and sanitation of all related equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with Federal, State and company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOP, and administrative policies.
  • Submit work orders and maintain equipment.
  • Consistently meet production efficiencies and targets.
  • Keep accurate logs, paperwork and charts.
  • Complete paperwork as per government regulations and HP Hood requirements.
  • Safely operate all assigned equipment following policies and procedures.
  • Maintain communication with team members, cross functional partners, and other crews.
  • Compliance with all plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for general plant cleanliness with the expectation of being inspection ready 24/7.
  • Reports all safety concerns/incidents promptly to a Supervisor, Lead or Manager.
  • May be required to assist in facilitation of training for new or existing operators in the qualification process.
  • All other assignments given by Supervision.



Education and Experience:




  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible for reporting to work on time when scheduled.
  • Able to deal with change, delays or unexpected events.

  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance and crouch for long periods of time (>10 hours)
  • Physically able to handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Physically able to move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to lift greater than 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.

The pay range for this position is
$26.66 $29.23 USD
