Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Graphics Technology

The Department of Applied Engineering Technology ( AET) in the College of Science and Technology at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Computer Graphics Technology beginning August 2026. The appointment is expected at the Assistant Professor level; however, exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for a higher rank. We seek applicants with the potential to establish a collaborative and innovative research program in computer graphics, with an emphasis on user experience and/or optimizing customer experience for commerce.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. Responsibilities include teaching Computer Graphics and other Applied Engineering Technology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing curriculum and new courses, advising and mentoring students, and providing service to the Department, College, University, and community.

The ideal candidate will establish and sustain a productive, externally funded research program in computer graphics and related areas; publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed venues; and supervise graduate (Ph.D. and M.S.) and undergraduate student research. A candidate whose teaching, research, and service contributions advance the mission of the Applied Engineering Technology Department and align with the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology and the University is highly desirable. Collaboration with colleagues across the sciences, mathematics, and technology disciplines is strongly encouraged.

Applicants must have a terminal degree in user experience, interactive web design, interactive media, or a closely related design technology field.

Highly preferred candidates will have industry experience in user experience development, teaching experience in an accredited program, and a sustained research record.
