SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager, serve as a resource to the organization in the development of a world class EHS program and achieving zero accidents.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Facilitate implementation of EHS systems including Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental and Medical programs.




  • Educate line organization personnel to ensure compliance with all EHS regulatory requirements and standards
  • Manage the wastewater treatment equipment for full compliance with the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) industrial discharge permit
  • Assess risk associated with manufacturing processes and act to minimize risks
  • Assist in defining, obtaining, and coordinating necessary EHS reports, permits, communications and EHS self-assessments for the location
  • Develop and update EHS written programs and safe work instructions
  • Assist in coordinating fire drills and other emergency drills
  • Update health and safety posting and bulletin boards
  • Develop and facilitate EHS training
  • Using VelocityEHS, manage and analyze incident data
  • Complete Health and Safety audits and inspections
  • Manage Job Observation/Behavior Based Program
  • Complete hazard assessments
  • Conduct ergonomic Job Requirements



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Associate's science degree (AA) or equivalent in Environmental, Health and Safety/Engineering; or equivalent verifiable experience. Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience related to manufacturing and repair operations.
  • Desire to grow EHS subject matter expertise and work towards relevant certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate is strongly preferred for this position.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft software including Excel, Power Point & Word.
