Position Summary
The Senior Paralegal provides advanced legal and administrative support to the Head of Legal, COO, and external legal counsel. This role supports legal operations across multiple business units in the U.S. and U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Senior Paralegal handles litigation, contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This position requires attorney supervision and frequent collaboration with business leaders.

Primary Responsibilities
Litigation Support
  • Manage legal process service and coordinate cases from start to finish
  • Maintain case files in both electronic and physical formats
  • Coordinate discovery (document preservation, collection, review, and production)
  • Work with outside counsel, expert witnesses, and internal teams
  • Track all litigation deadlines to ensure timely compliance
  • Prepare litigation status reports for leadership
Contract Management
  • Draft, review, and revise contracts (vendor agreements, provider agreements, NDAs, service agreements) under attorney supervision
  • Assist with vendor and partner evaluations
  • Maintain centralized contract filing system
  • Track contract renewals, expirations, and compliance requirements
  • Prepare contract status reports for leadership
Secondary Responsibilities
Corporate Governance & Regulatory Compliance
  • Handle entity maintenance, annual reports, license renewals, and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions
  • Serve as Notary Public (must obtain commission within 60 days if not currently active)
  • Monitor legislation, regulatory updates, and compliance requirements
  • Create and maintain organizational charts and process maps
  • Conduct legal research to support documents, opinion letters, and compliance projects
  • Research licensing requirements for business expansions
  • Support compliance, audit, and risk management projects
  • Perform additional legal and operational tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (preferred)
Certifications & Licenses
  • Advanced Paralegal Certification (ACP) or Certified Paralegal (CP) preferred
  • Active Notary Public Commission or ability to obtain within 60 days
  • Professional association membership (NALA, NFPA) encouraged
Experience
  • Required: 5-7 years in litigation and transactional paralegal work
  • Preferred: Additional 3-5 years in corporate governance, healthcare, insurance, or multi-entity legal work
  • Preferred: Executive support experience and multi-jurisdiction work (state, federal, USVI)
Core Skills
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, litigation procedures, and healthcare/insurance regulations
  • Advanced legal research, writing, and document management
  • Ability to handle changing deadlines and high-volume workloads
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and follow-through
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Technology Skills
Required:
  • Legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw)
  • Electronic filing with state, federal, and administrative bodies
  • HIPAA, HITECH, and cybersecurity protocols
  • Microsoft Office 365, including Excel (formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Adobe Acrobat (editing, redacting, combining documents, e-signatures)
Preferred:
  • AI tools (e.g., Copilot) with understanding of risks and limitations
  • Organizational chart and workflow mapping tools (e.g., Lucidchart)
  • Project management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project)
  • Business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Contract lifecycle management or legal matter management systems
Work Schedule & Travel
  • Occasional travel required for litigation, audits, depositions, or corporate meetings (including USVI)
  • Extended hours may be needed during pressing deadlines, litigation events, or regulatory filings
  • Must maintain reasonable responsiveness to urgent legal matters

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
