LSC consists of eight colleges, seven centers, eight Workforce Centers of Excellence and Lone Star Corporate College.

LSC-Creekside Center is a state-of-the-art, full-service satellite center designed to serve the western portion of the Woodlands, as well as Tomball and the surrounding communities. Its location in an area of rapid growth provides an ideal opportunity for both working and non-traditional students. The facility offers a selection of day, evening and weekend credit courses, including university-transfer courses and certificates.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator II, Instruction, facilitates daily operations of assigned instructional areas at Creekside Center. This position coordinates administrative, operational, and instructional support functions, including science lab preparation, event scheduling, and supply management. The role also serves as a point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Additional responsibilities include supporting outreach activities, maintaining compliance with safety and quality assurance standards, and providing routine laboratory support. The Coordinator II, Instruction contributes to the efficiency of instructional operations and the overall success of Creekside Center programs and services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs a variety of administrative and operational support functions for the assigned executive and department. This may include, but is not limited to; creating and monitoring a variety of reports related to science labs and internal and external events/activities; scheduling and coordinating a variety of events and classroom labs
  2. Communicates with faculty and other science laboratory staff about lab schedules and lab materials; maintains a constant dialogue between instructors and labs throughout the semester
  3. Coordinate daily operations of assigned area(s). Maintain records, maintain current knowledge base on assigned area(s), and acts as a point of contact for internal and external customers
  4. Orders and maintains a variety of supplies (science supplies, classroom and office equipment, promotional items)
  5. Properly monitors, handles, sterilizes, and disposes of hazardous and chemical waste or materials
  6. Ensures safety and quality assurance practices are followed including maintenance of SDS (Safety Data Sheets) workstations and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  7. Provides routine lab support including cleaning and restocking of labs, preparation for courses, washing materials, and recording supplies inventory
  8. Collaborate with main campus to coordinate visits with Service Area School Career Center Counselors to arrange appointments with students and attend events
  9. Attend College Fairs and community job fairs to display program information and coach prospective students regarding their educational goals and program opportunities
  10. Maintains professional working relationships with a variety of LSC employees at all levels, as well as with outside vendors
  11. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and/or experience with infection control policies and procedures and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA)
  • Astute and broad knowledge of the sciences and related safety protocols for the successful handling of day-to-day operations
  • Working knowledge of sterile/aseptic techniques for microbiology Organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications
  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports
  • Possesses good organizational
  • Ability to work independently with minimum instruction and cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of faculty and staff
  • Capable of performing required duties with minimal supervision
  • Good safety record and safety consciousness

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters and record boxes. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary

Hiring salary range is $44,793 - $51,512

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
