Description

Join a team of professionals where you will be responsible for overseeing and developing new products for Turbocam's customers. The PDE selects material, develops processes and related technologies to satisfy customer need. A successful project concludes with a quality plan to validate the process and ensure successful implementation within the organization to comply with the customer's specification and volume demand. Product Development Engineers also help customers understand their design applications and provide solutions.

  • Receiving and evaluating customer design information, drawings, and data.
  • Verifying that all customer design information and data meets and supports original design intent.
  • Periodically communicating directly with the customer regarding any discrepancies with the models, the drawings, and design intent.
  • Developing a manufacturing process to effectively produce, and inspect a quality part according to the customer's design and intent.
  • Building accurate geometric CAD models geometry as needed according to customer drawings and design intent.
  • Advising and consulting with engineers, technicians and scientists.
  • Searching for and implementing technical advancements that will benefit the company.
  • Providing other CAD modeling fixture design and other technical services as needed.
  • Upkeeping of records and paperwork.
  • Assisting with providing estimates of project timelines for new work.
  • Creating and implementing systems for improved quality, efficiency and cost savings.
  • Supporting lean initiatives by assisting with change implementer and participating in kaizen events.
  • Assisting with machine purchases and layout.
  • Assisting with training new engineers and technicians.
  • Performing other duties as necessary.
Bring Your Expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in engineering or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 2 years' experience using CAD and CAM software preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel. MS Project or related software preferred.
  • Strong math and trigonometry skills required.
  • Ability to read design prints, understanding of ASME Y14.5M, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and familiarization of inspection equipment and gages.
  • Must maintain adequate near vision by means of annual test (per the requirements of Work Instruction WIQA.05).
  • Must have strong written, verbal, interpersonal and graphic presentation skills.
