As an Engineering Technician you'll collaborate with talented engineers and production teams using data-driven approaches to drive continuous improvement and bring ideas to life. Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities * Supports engineers to improve performance of existing products and manufacturing processes * Uses problem solving techniques and root cause analysis to address technical issues with products, including manufacturing issues * Methodically collects and analyzes data from experiments, ideally using Six Sigma tools * Supports implementation of new equipment including testing and validation * Documents and reports on results of testing, including validation reports * Provides documentation to support manufacturing using new parts, assemblies and/or processes * Works independently to troubleshoot and find solutions to address production problems Preferred Experience/Skills/Knowledge * Associate Degree or equivalent experience * Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques * Experience with Six Sigma tools is a plus * Experience with different manufacturing processes and working with engineers and production personnel to solve problems * Experience with X-ray tubes or other high vacuum devices is beneficial * Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Education and Experience * Associate Degree or equivalent experience * 7+ years of related experience Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. * Medium work that will occasionally require employee to lift/move up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift more than 30 lbs to greater than 50 lbs * Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies occasionally * Reaching above the shoulder occasionally * Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools occasionally * Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities * Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion Time Type: Full timeJob Type: RegularWork Shift: First ShiftPay Rate Type: HourlyBenefits and Perks Varex Imaging provides competitive pay and benefits to support the financial, physical, and emotional well-being of the people who make our company successful.
