We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to support our Military Aircraft Group!

In this role, you travel globally to provide expert guidance in Emergency Action Planning, Environmental and/or Dangerous Goods Transportation, to sites within Military Aircraft Group (MAG) on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) legal obligations and performance. Activities will include organizing and delivering specialty certification training, approval of chemical uses, waste disposal sites, technical procedures, measuring EHS performance and assisting with the building of EHS communication & execution resources to further site EHS programs. You will collaborate with site EHS personnel across global staff levels.

To be considered for the Group EHS Manager role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Typically, Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, environmental, civil engineering, or related discipline.

  • At least five (5) years of experience in the field of EHS engineering and compliance.

  • EHS qualification/certification in Emergency Action Planning, Environmental and/or Dangerous Goods Transportation to be able to provide EHS advice to the business, strongly preferred.

  • Regulatory knowledge in expertise in Emergency Action Planning, Environmental and/or Dangerous Goods Transportation

  • The ability to teach technical topics associated with regulations to various teams.

  • Succinct, accurate communication skills, utilizing adult learning skills, and have the drive to improve EHS cultures, and support projects that can span a yearlong implementation schedule.

  • Available to provide off-shift technical guidance to sites in emergency incident situations.

  • Able to travel frequently (a minimum of 16-20 trips per year, globally).

As a Group EHS Manager, you will:

  • Work with Site EHS personnel to evaluate site EHS performance, EHS site skill needs and opportunities for improvement within site practices. Provide suggestions to MAG EHS Director & site leadership for consideration.

  • Partner with site EHS staff to custom tailor existing resources for the site implementation phases of the EHS management system. This includes technical reviews of their procedures, training, contractor programs and helping build project plans with associated communication components the site will need.

  • Provide technical expertise on common regulatory requirements when sites are making changes to their equipment, layouts, and procedures.

  • Teach sites regulatory changes and provide supporting technical information appropriate to their knowledge level for site responses to government agency notices and other internal & external party audits.

  • Develop and help to implement training events, lessons learned, mind maps and other communication tools which will help reduce implementation burden across multiple sites in an MAG.

  • Participate in Corporate EHS Compliance audits of global Moog sites.

  • Help Operating Group Director identify and implement cost saving opportunities that benefit multiple sites across MAG, and assist in the evaluation site EHS budgetary needs, skills gaps, and communications/ responsibilities.

  • Help select, approve, and manage 3rd party expert resources, such as consultants, laboratories, disposal sites that sites need to use in support of their EHS programs.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $110,000.00-$150,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
