Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to support our Huntsville, AL location.

Provides technical assistance and manages computer systems and networks for the organization. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, installing and configuring new equipment and software, monitoring network performance and security, and managing user accounts and permissions. They also perform system maintenance, ensure data backups, and provide training and support to end-users.

Key Responsibilities:

    Technical support: Provide first-level support to internal and external users via phone, email, or in-person to resolve IT-related issues.
  • System and network management: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and network infrastructure like firewalls and switches.
  • User account management: Set up new user accounts, manage access rights, and ensure proper security settings and password policies are followed.
  • Maintenance and monitoring: Perform routine maintenance, monitor system performance, manage security logs, and ensure that backup systems are in place and functional.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Security: Implement and maintain network security, and manage software updates and security patches.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of technical procedures, configurations, and support issues.
  • User training: Train employees on new hardware, software, and IT procedures.


Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field is often preferred, along with relevant experience.
  • Technical knowledge: Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), hardware, software, and networking is essential. Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 is required.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Organizational skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently or as part of a team.
