About the Role


As a Technician II you will focus on sustaining, restoring, and improving existing machines and processes that impact a technical area. You will manage your own activities and take accountability for completing routine tasks that are part of an overall project or process. As part of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, you will be a team member who is relied on to have a good understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. Your decision making will help you prioritize workflows based on the available resources. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing. You will contribute to the team's success by sharing your previously acquired knowledge.



Your Key Responsibilities



  • In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Test and product labeling processes.
  • General processes and equipment support including:

    • Automated Surface Mount Assembly.
    • Through Hole Wave and Selective Soldering.
    • Manual and Semi Auto Build Processes.




  • Assure that equipment is operating properly, correct and/or report malfunctions, and may assist others in complex set up/repair operations.


  • Implement Engineering Changes including work instructions, routings, and BOM's.
  • Support implementation of new technology for process execution and/or analysis.
  • Manage your own time, professional development, prioritize workflows and be accountable for own results.
  • Train production employees on products, processes, procedures, and equipment.



Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of two-year degree or equivalent related experience (3-5 years).
  • Electronics or electronics test equipment knowledge.
  • Basic equipment electro/mechanical knowledge.
  • Problem solving and applied equipment troubleshooting skills.


Desired Qualifications - Applied Knowledge of:



  • Printed circuit boards, electronic components and basic printed circuit technology assembly procedures.
  • Circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Understanding of communications hardware and software protocols (I.E., GPIB, RS-485, Ethernet TCP, Modbus).


  • Database awareness, understanding how testers/printers access SQL16, PLM, Mac Pac.
  • Programming language specific to C+, C#, Python, or LabVIEW.


  • Computer networking applied knowledge.


  • Data analytics applied knowledge.
  • Universal, Fuji, or other SMT assembly equipment.


  • Machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Workmanship acceptability requirements and industry standards such as IPC 610.
  • The procedures for the safe handling of electronic components or assemblies.
  • Electronic component terminology, placement and markings.
