Mission Contribution: The E-Commerce Assistant Manager supports the leadership and management of daily E-Commerce operations. This role contributes to profitability, operational efficiency, and adherence to company standards while fostering training and development opportunities for team members. The E-Commerce Assistant Manager collaborates with the E-Commerce Manager and other teams to drive sales growth, deliver world-class customer service, and achieve organizational objectives. Summary: Under the general supervision of the E-Commerce Manager, the E-Commerce Assistant Manager helps oversee the daily operations of the E-Commerce department, ensuring efficient performance, profitability, and alignment with company goals. This includes assisting with staff management, maintaining compliance with policies and procedures, and promoting a welcoming and productive environment. In the absence of the E-Commerce Manager, the E-Commerce Assistant Manager assumes all managerial duties except employee termination. Work is performed with latitude for independent judgment and action within the framework of Goodwill's policies and procedures. Essential Functions:
- Support E-Commerce operations to achieve or exceed net income goals by assisting in maximizing production output, driving revenue, and maintaining expense control under the direction of the E-Commerce Manager.
- Assist in managing labor costs effectively by aligning staffing levels with production fluctuations, adhering to budget expectations or better, and ensuring compliance with Goodwill policies and procedures.
- Oversee donation handling and processing to ensure stewardship, production flow, and goal achievement in accordance with organizational standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, product location standards, and audit processes to ensure product availability and timely order fulfillment.
- Ensure quality and quantity of goods listed on online marketplaces through regular audits and accurate submission of inventory data.
- Complete all assigned tasks accurately and on time, including safety program requirements, incident and accident reporting, payroll, supply orders, and scheduling, to align with operational goals and support the E-Commerce Manager's directives.
- Promote world-class customer service by supporting the Customer Service Specialist, responding to inquiries, and resolving escalated complaints.
- Lead and monitor customer communications to ensure prompt, courteous, and consistent world-class service across all platforms.
- Demonstrate leadership with a balance of humility and determination, modeling Goodwill's leadership principles as defined by Level V Leadership (Good to Great by Jim Collins).
- Act as a coach leader, supporting team members to reach their full potential by mentoring team members, fostering development, and encouraging performance excellence.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring recommendations, onboarding, and recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent under the guidance of the E-Commerce Manager.
- Support performance management by contributing to performance evaluations, documenting coaching, implementing improvement plans, and fostering professional development through constructive feedback and goal setting.
- Document coaching and assist in implementing corrective actions, identifying performance issues, supporting improvement plans, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Ensure team members complete training within established timelines, equipping them to meet organizational goals while contributing to succession planning and team success.
- Help foster a positive workplace culture by encouraging team morale, facilitating training, and holding team members accountable to Goodwill's policies and expectations.
- Lead by example to maintain brand standards, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for team members.
- Model effective leadership that empowers team members to achieve production and operational goals.
- Attend required meetings and assist in ensuring team participation, actively contributing to discussions that drive business outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in digital literacy, including basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), and company-specific software tools.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to effectively read, write, and create reports and professional business correspondence.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from team members and customers.
- Basic mathematical proficiency, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and diverse internal and external customers.
- Positive and friendly attitude, contributing to a collaborative work environment and enhancing team morale.
- Familiarity with online selling platforms such as Amazon and eBay is a plus.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, additional education a plus.
- Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience in a business setting preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete any assigned Goodwill training within the required period of time upon employment.
- Ability to complete and maintain first aid and CPR certification (training provided by Goodwill).
- Must be able to successfully obtain a forklift certification (training provided by Goodwill) and operate a forklift daily.
- Valid State of Virginia driver's license and proof of insurance required to drive personal vehicle on company business.
- An acceptable motor vehicle record, based on Goodwill guidelines, is required for driving a personal or company vehicle.
Special Requirements:
- Personal vehicle usage is required for this position, including a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and the ability to provide proof of insurance for driving on company business.
- Must provide a cell phone for specified work responsibilities, including the use of a phone-based application for authentication.
- Must successfully complete a state background investigation and drug screen.
