The Assembly Team Lead Supports the production manager by providing hands-on support and daily work instruction to the department team. This individual is responsible for the initial quality of the product produced by the team and interfaces with various quality, production, and engineering personnel for guidance and support during the assembly process.

Position Responsibilities:

* Under general direction of the Production Manager, leads work efforts in the area by distributing work and maintaining work flow through the assigned area.

* Mentors employees in the assigned area and assists in training new and existing employees.

* Assist in production of all First Piece Builds and works with appropriate engineering staff to troubleshoot any assembly concerns or issues.

* Monitors quality levels of the assigned areas and provides guidance and correction to employees. Tracks non-conformances and corrective actions and ensures corrective actions are incorporated into the process as needed.

* Monitors employee issues, provides verbal direction, and works with the Production Manager to resolve.

* Ensures team members are following proper procedures per Process and Work Instructions.

* Tracks, verifies, and ensures accuracy of key performance data by utilizing Excel, ERP system, and other databases. Compiles data and provides daily updates and reports as needed for various meetings.

* Maintains visual operations board to track product. Updates the boards and the tracking sheet continuously and accurately.

* In the absence of the manager, serves as the main point of contact with various departments to problem solve or ask product assembly questions. Ensures that any issues are brought to resolution to enable timely and quality assembly.

* Responsible for overall cleanliness of assigned assembly area(s) and ensuring schedules and a daily routine is set to support up-to-date compliance with ESD requirements, equipment maintenance, calibration, and shelf life dates. Performs a 5-S inspection regularly.

* Assembles product as needed.

* Lead Tier 1 boards for your assigned programs and provide feedback.

* Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the value of this organization.

* Ability to perform tasks up and down the chain of command - example - fill in for supervisor or subordinate.

* Instills and models adherence to Company Values.

* Demonstrates strong communication skills - verbal, written, and comprehension of written documents.

* Demonstrates a skill set in assembly with high quality performance. Proficient in performing work in the assembly level of assignment or be trained as an assembler to gain job knowledge and proficiency prior to assuming full responsibility of team lead.

* Proficiency with manufacturing software, support processes, and programs.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively under stressful situations.

* Ability to work well with others and work with various disciplines of the organization.

* Ability to read and comprehend work and process instructions (read/understand schematics, CAD drawings or blue prints)

* Possesses attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Ability to effectively lead small teams

* Fine motor skills, dexterity, and good eyesight

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred

* Ability to obtains and maintains basic certifications in IPC610 and JStandard001 procedures

* Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Work Environment:

* Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

* Hours: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Thursday; Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations.

* 9/80 work schedule.
