Summary

Balfour Beatty, a leading construction management firm with a strong presence across the US, is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to join its Corporate Finance team. This individual will preferably be Dallas-based and report directly to the CFO of US Buildings.

While this role reports to the US Buildings CFO, it is also providing the same support to the US Infrastructure CFO. This role will play a critical part in shaping the company's growth trajectory by delivering data-driven insights and strategic recommendations that support business development, market positioning, and long-term planning. The Business Analyst will work cross-functionally with Communications, Group Strategy, and executive stakeholders to analyze market trends, assess competitive landscapes, and identify high-potential opportunities across sectors and geographies. This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with 5-8 years of experience who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is passionate about driving impactful decisions within a top-tier US construction business.

Essential Functions

Strategic Analysis & Insight Development



  • Conduct in-depth market analysis, including tracking industry trends, competitive dynamics, sector and geographic addressable markets and emerging technologies.
  • Perform competitor profiling and benchmarking to inform strategic positioning.
  • Develop business cases for market and sector penetrations, growth opportunities and future targets.
  • Analyze company business data and performance against market opportunities to identify optimal potential for future target positioning.


Strategy Development & Execution



  • Collaborate with senior leaders to support corporate and business unit strategy formulation.
  • Structure and manage strategic projects, including scoping, resource planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights through presentations, reports, and dashboards.
  • Support the business strategic planning and alignment process working with various functions and stakeholders.


Collaboration & Reporting



  • Partner with Communications, Group Strategy Team and relevant Business Unit teams to align strategic initiatives with financial planning and performance metrics.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and reports for executive leadership.
  • Formulate and track metrics on results from growth strategy implementation.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence/Analytics, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in strategy, consulting, investment banking, or corporate development.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, data collection, data analysis, and visualization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in infrastructure, construction, or industrial sectors is a plus.
