Postdoctoral Research Associate (9546)

The Adams Laboratory has an opening for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a background in immunology and strong interest in translational research. This position will work under the direction and day-to-day supervision of Dr. Andrew Adams & Dr. Neal Iwakoshi in the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School. This position will have an anticipated length of 3-years and will focus in on one or more areas of investigation of our lab. Those areas are (1) costimulation blockade and costimulation independent rejection (2) allotransplantation (3) xenotransplantation (4) transplant diagnostics (5) transplant outcomes. The focus of the translational research project will be to develop novel cellular and molecular therapies to prevent graft rejection and induce immune transplant tolerance

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD, MD or MD/PhD or equivalent is required with experience in cell/molecular biology or immunology.
  • The candidate should have demonstrated initiative and motivation
  • Ability to critically analyze data and work independently.
  • Must have knowledge of research and experimental platforms and be able to present and discuss data in a clear and comprehensive manner.
  • The candidate should also have demonstrated experience managing and leading teams.
  • Developing collaborations, protocols and training other team member
  • Ability to show a record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform a wide range of highly technical and complex research duties to advance basic and/or translational research programs. The preferred candidate has experience in human immunology and/or immunology in preclinical animal models. Expertise in immunological cellular and molecular methods, advanced flow cytometry, cell sorting, and cell culture/differentiation are highly desired although not required.
