Job Summary
Dr. Joseph M. Metzger, in The Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology (IBP) at the University of Minnesota Medical School, is seeking outstanding candidates with an Ph.D. and/or M.D. for research projects in molecular and integrative cardiology and skeletal muscle biology, including striated muscle sarcomere and cytoskeleton structure-function, E-C coupling, experimental gene and cell-based therapy and chemical-based molecular band-aids. Studies are directed toward acquired and inherited diseases, including heart failure, ischemia and muscular dystrophy.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, physiology of related fields, or M.D.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with gene editing and molecular biology, including such evidence as manifest in peer-reviewed research paper as a first author.
