As the primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals.

Portfolio Management Overview

The Portfolio Management team seeks to optimize performance objectives and appropriately manage risk through consistent data-driven decision making for a variety of alternative investment strategies, including private equity, private credit, and real estate. The Portfolio Management team partners with investment teams, capital markets, engineering and investor relations to achieve superior outcomes for AWM's clients.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:



  • Manage a series of alternative investment funds and related investment vehicles
  • Conduct fund modeling to drive portfolio construction, leverage and liquidity strategy
  • Assist with deal allocation for funds with overlapping mandates
  • Present portfolio analysis and data-driven recommendations to senior management through written and oral presentations
  • Monitor hard and soft constraints at the fund level (including side letter terms, tax rules)
  • Assist with the development and recommendation of dividend policy (as applicable)
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends to assist with strategic decisions
  • Assist with leading and coordination of board meetings and related materials
  • Research and prepare ad-hoc strategic analyses
  • Collaborate and coordinate with investing, debt capital market and asset management teams on transaction timing and impact



Required Experience:



  • 2-4 years of experience in a financial services setting, specifically in corporate finance, financial modeling or portfolio / fund management
  • Strong analytical orientation
  • Desire and ability to perform financial and valuation analysis
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a small team, exhibit initiative and be proactive
  • Collaborative team player
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills



Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
