A Day in the Life:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of day-to-day assigned Protein and/or Packaging production operations department. Support the Production Operations Manager in monitoring and improving plant productivity. Work Schedule: 12-hour rotating shift (48-hour week/36-hour week)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated, and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries.
  • Ensure assigned shift is compliant with sanitation requirements. May provide support in the monthly sanitation inspections and implementation of any corrective actions as necessary.
  • Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide input during plant annual shutdowns.
  • Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance of assigned shift in all aspects.
  • Help develop and drive Operations Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement in assigned shift.
  • Monitor KPR's and help develop plans to bring assigned shift in line with Operations Excellence goals.
  • Periodically participate in the daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the assigned shift operations activities are aligned.
  • Participate in personnel investigations and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering or related field or equivalent progressive experience of 3+ years in soybean crushing, oil refining, milling, oil packaging operations, or related and applicable activities in support of industrial operations is required.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages.
  • Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule required.
