Facilities Operations

Job Description

This position ensures the Missouri Protoplex facility operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the needs of its research, academic, and industry users. As the dedicated on-site representative for Facility Planning & Operations, the role provides day-to-day coordination, oversight, and problem-solving to support the success of the Missouri Protoplex organization. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the operational reliability and strategic functionality of this high-profile facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary on-site representative for facilities operations at the Missouri Protoplex, ensuring the building's daily functions align with the organizations strategic goals
  • Monitor building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc..) and coordinate training and corrective actions to maintain operational continuity, occupational health and safety, and safe access of machinery
  • Conduct periodic walkthroughs and condition assessments of the building and equipment to proactively identify and report issues
  • Monitor and support progress on work orders and building construction projects, relaying concerns and providing coordination between Protoplex leadership and campus operations staff
  • Oversee equipment service contracts and vendor performance, ensuring service levels meet facility and tenant needs
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues by initiating facilities operations work orders and following up on resolution status with relevant teams or contractors
  • Support implementation and closeout of renovation, tenant fit-out, and deferred maintenance projects.
  • Serve as a liaison with building occupants to ensure their space needs and operational issues are communicated and addressed
  • Interpret and communicate policies related to building access, operations, safety, and emergency procedures to tenants and visitors; maintain training and equipment use authorization records
  • Assist with documenting facility use patterns, preparing operational reports, and identifying improvement opportunities related to space use and facility efficiency
  • Coordinate material inventory management, including the receipt of raw materials, storage tracking, and scheduling or proper waste disposal in compliance with university and regulatory standards
  • Serve as building access coordinator, facilitate access requests, and provide access reports as needed
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,916-$74,485 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
