Hill International is seeking a Vice President in Los Angeles, California


  • Review the designs to be provided and oversee and guide development of the procurement documents for the PDB Contract and contract(s) for the LRT Components.
  • Assist LACMTA to respond to RFIs for the procurements for the PDB.
  • Contract and contract(s) for the LRT Components.
  • Review value engineering proposals and innovations offered by the PDB Contractor and contractor(s)/developer(s) and provide recommendations for approval.
  • Strong understanding of rail systems to allow interface and configuration management between contracts both during design and construction.
  • Oversee the Approved for Construction process during the construction phase.
  • Coordinate review of PDB Contractor and contractor(s)/developer(s) submittals during the construction phase and organize meetings to resolve comments. Ensure that reviews are conducted in due time without delays.
  • Assist in the review of claims and establish merit.
  • Conduct site visits to investigate differing site conditions claims.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during the design and construction of deep foundations, bridges and at-grade construction.
  • Add value during the design, procurement and construction phases of the Project through improving safety, quality, constructability, reducing claims during construction and achieving on time-within budget completion of the Project work.
  • Approximately 15 years in supervising the design and construction of major design-build rail projects is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of fire, life and safety issues in LACMTA rail systems, including emergency egress, climate control and NFPA 130.
  • Experience in deep foundations, bridges, rail systems, Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design ("ADA") compliance, and fire, life and safety within LACMTA rail systems.
  • Experience with BIM and ability to review and approve BIM models.
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is desirable.
  • Professional Engineer registration is required. California Professional Engineer is desirable.

The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $320,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
