Job Summary
This position will be responsible to oversee a wide range of administrative, operational, financial, strategic and quality initiatives for the Department of Radiology. This position will partner with the Chair of Radiology and work with leadership to align service lines with strategy, driving change efforts, and ensuring the advancement of business initiatives. This position will collaborate with leaders across the organization to streamline services, improve efficiency and optimize financial opportunities. This position will identify key performance and quality indicators for various areas including operational performance, staff development, service lines and departmental efficiency. This position will be responsible for overseeing all recruitment, staffing, retention, associate performance, facilities management, practice efficiency/ improvement and regulatory compliance. Has cross campus responsibilities, authority and accountability for the department. This position will collaborate with departmental leadership and the organization on strategic goals, business development opportunities and overall efficiency of the Department.
Essential Functions
- In collaboration with the leadership plans, develops, implements and manages short and long range strategic and operational goals for the department. This includes assessing current and future resources, developing business plans for new programs, defining metrics, coordination with practices and leading implementation efforts.
* Departmental strategic goals are well planned and implemented. - Directs the annual preparation and monthly monitoring of budgets. Implements fiscal management systems to meet department and organizational financial goals through forecasting, monitoring of expense trends, preparation of contribution margin variance analyses and if necessary develop interventions to correct deficiencies, to present to institutional leadership.
* Monthly financial activities, variances and projections are well explained, and year end results are favorable to the department and the organization. - Collaborates with leadership to establish development plans and annual performance goals to monitor associates engagement and growth opportunities within the department.
* Personnel development is continuous to assure that staff are working towards the department and organizations goals, objectives, and mission and are appropriately engaged and compensated. - Directs administrative functions needed to recruit, hire and retain associates. This includes overseeing budget capacity for new personnel, provider credentialing, on-boarding processes with HR, payroll processing; retention bonus eligibility and opportunities for salary adjustments.
* Monitor recruitment and retention. - Prepares and analyzes dashboards to effectively present metrics to divisional leadership regarding revenue, expenses and other operational performance metrics.
* Finance and operation metrics are well monitored and appropriately used to improve operations. - Direct activities related to marketing, PR, communication and information availability, e.g. website redesign and efforts to direct patient and referring physicians to the website; coordinate internally to procure content/patient stories for marketing and PR efforts, implementation of media plan.
* Department image and access to information is approved. - Promote satisfaction in accordance with standards of Montefiore Excellence.
* Ensures compliance with balanced scorecard performance measures and regulatory agency standards. * Ensure excellent service across organization - Implements and monitors regulatory, hospital and departmental policies, standards, practices and procedures ensuring compliance, response and resolution
* Departmental operations are aligned and in compliance with institutional goals and objectives. - Leads and /or participates in departmental or hospital wide committees, programs and/or initiatives. E.g.., Strategic Planning Committees.
* Actively participate in improving the process of delivering services within and outside the medical center. - Manages the recruitment, hiring, training, supervising and discipline process of department.
* Effective management meetings are held to review department operations, set goals and track progress. - Functions as the administrative point of contact to the Chair and leadership for identifying and resolving operational issues, communicating information and facilitating required actions.
* Turnaround time and effectiveness of problem resolution. - Functions as the liaison between the department leadership and organization to streamline services.
* Communication of information is fluid between the department and leadership. - Analyze and monitor volume, cost and revenue metrics to ensure efficient operational workflow.
* Ensure financial stability of department. - Streamline services across locations to ensure proper communication and operational needs are met to business areas.
* Timely and efficient goals are met.
Qualifications
- BS Required
- MA Preferred
- 10+ years Required
- Strong Finance background including budget and reporting experience.
- Radiology experience preferred.
- Effective management skills necessary to organize, direct and evaluate the activities of hospital personnel.
- Analytical skills necessary for problem solving decision making.
- Excellent communication, writing skills, excellent grammar.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
