Job Summary: Supports the day-to-day activities for the Program Management function and charged with the successful development and implementation of UNC Health's evolving strategy and other priority system initiatives. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight of complex, high impact initiatives across UNC Health. This role is accountable for driving the successful delivery of programs that advance UNC Health's strategic vision, operational excellence, and long-term system performance. This senior-level position partners closely with executive sponsors, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and sustain programs to realize our strategic vision. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in managing complex strategic programs in a health care setting. Description of Job Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Program Leadership: Manage the development and execution of multi-year programs with system-wide impact. Define and oversee program objectives to ensure alignment with UNC Health's strategic priorities. Provide thought leadership to senior leaders and cross-functional teams to help establish and deliver on strategic initiatives. 2. Executive Collaboration and Influence: Partner with senior leaders to define strategic direction for a given program objective and translate priorities into executable program portfolios. Serve as a thought parter and trusted advisor to senior leaders, offering insights and recommendations to accelerate outcomes. Communicate complex strategies effectively to leadership and other key stakeholders. 3. Operational Excellence and Change Enablement: Drive continuous improvement by implementing frameworks that promote accountability, efficiency, and measurable results. Partner closely with various functional areas to ensure stakeholder adoption, engagement, and sustained benefits. Anticipate and resolve complex operational and organizational barriers. 4. Data-driven Analysis and Decision Support: Analyzes performance and resolves barriers to maximize efficiency and deliver on strategic goals within assigned programs. Translate data insights into actionable strategies that inform decision-making and drive improvement. Ensures all proper internal controls are in place to safeguard assets of the system and satisfies internal and external regulatory requirements. 5. Business and Financial Planning: Provides analytical and strategy support to stakeholders in assigned programs. Performs analytics, provides business insight into implications of findings, develops business plans, and recommends opportunities for improvement. 6. Mentorship and Team Development: Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance accountability across UNC Health. In partnership with e leadership, provide mentorship to and share best practices with Program Manager peers within function. Other Information Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree; in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field Licensure/Certification Requirements: No licensure or certification required. Professional Experience Requirements: Seven (7) years of program/project management experience required with at least two (2) years in a related role within a healthcare or large, complex organization preferred.
