Job Overview:
The RWJBH Mechanic performs a wide variety of maintenance duties in and around the buildings of the Medical Center complex.
Occasionally, assists tradesmen and other workers in completing tasks, Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment safely and effectively.

Qualifications:
Required

• High School diploma and two to three years of relevant work experience.

Scheduling Requirements:

• 7:00am 3:30pm

Essential Functions:

• Assists tradesman or leadsman with special projects as needed.
• Installs and repairs locks, doors, windows and screens.
• Performs general carpentry work.
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance on non-clinical hospital equipment, and inspects the equipment for safety,
• Repairs or replaces broken or worn parts as required,
• Repairs and troubleshoots plumbing fixtures, sinks, toilets, and drain lines.
• Cleans and snakes out clogs if needed.
• Repairs or replaces ceiling Grids , tiles , and other basic items.
• Repairs, maintains, nurse call systems and tube systems though out hospital.
• Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service.
