About the team You'll join a collaborative, forward-thinking team responsible for delivering and supporting Hedge Fund Portfolio Management (VPM) solutions to financial services clients. Our group combines deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of business processes, ensuring seamless deployments and upgrades of complex enterprise software in regulated environments. What you will be doing As a Technical Business Consultant, you will be the bridge between client business needs and technical implementation for VPM solutions. You will: * Lead and coordinate VPM installation, upgrade, and deployment projects for clients, ensuring all technical and business requirements are met. * Validate and document pre-requisites, server configurations, and connectivity for new and existing environments. * Guide clients through pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment activities, including troubleshooting and knowledge transfer. * Liaise with client IT, business stakeholders, and internal teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. * Ensure compliance with security, licensing, and operational standards throughout the project lifecycle. Additional Duties and Responsibility * Assess and document client infrastructure, connectivity, and security requirements for VPM deployments (including VPN, portals, and server access). * Oversee server and application pre-requirements discovery (Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, network ports, certificates, etc.). * Manage deployment checklists, including software installation (MSI packages), configuration of software files, and license management. * Coordinate with DBA and IT teams for SQL Server setup, reporting services, and backup/restore operations. * Provide post-deployment support, including functional testing, troubleshooting, and documentation handover. * Ensure all service accounts, permissions, and security policies are correctly configured and documented. * Support the creation and management of VPM Share folders, service accounts, and client workspaces. * Maintain compliance with password, certificate, and security best practices. What you Bring * Strong technical background in enterprise software deployment, preferably in financial services or regulated industries. * Experience with Windows Server administration, SQL Server, IIS, and network security. * Ability to interpret and execute detailed technical checklists and deployment guides. * Excellent communication skills for client-facing roles, including documentation and training. * Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with attention to detail and process compliance. * Familiarity with certificate management, Active Directory, and service account permissions. Additional Required Technical Knowledge * Server & Application Setup: Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, .NET Framework, ODBC drivers, certificate management, network/firewall configuration. * Process & Documentation: Pre-requisite validation, deployment checklists, EP.XML configuration, backup/restore, license management, and post-deployment verification. * Collaboration: Working with client IT, DBA, and business teams; managing permissions, security policies, and troubleshooting. * Tools: SSMS, appwiz.cpl, lusrmgr.msc, secpol.msc, and various MSI installers for VPM components. * Best Practices: Security compliance, documentation, and adherence to process for regulated environments. * Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues with VPM components, Smart Client, Excel Add-In, and reporting packages. Bonus if you have * Hands-on experience with portfolio management/valuation platforms. * Familiarity with certificate management, Active Directory, and service account permissions. * Knowledge of .NET Framework, MS ODBC drivers, and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) setup. * Experience with automation tools, scripting, or process optimization in deployment scenarios. * Prior consulting experience in a client-facing technical role * Experience with enterprise security, network configuration, and compliance requirements.
