Description

ACS Group is a privately held company that designs and manufactures comprehensive lines of auxiliary products for the plastics processing industry. ACS Group maintains an expansive product line, which includes size reduction equipment (granulators and shredders), material conveying equipment, metering and blending devices, heat exchangers (mold temperature control units and chillers), drying systems, and presses. These products are marketed under such recognizable brand names as AEC, Sterling, Cumberland, Wabash and Carver.

The Manufacturing Engineer will identify, communicate, and help drive improvements throughout the production and engineering process. This position reports directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager.

The following specific responsibilities include:



  • Engage shop floor personnel and engineers on process improvements
  • Understand and control process inputs and outputs
  • Design processes to ensure quality and standardization
  • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Evaluate aspects of manufacturing design and process to recommend improvements
  • Process development and optimization: Designing and implementing manufacturing systems, optimizing workflows, and reducing waste and costs
  • Equipment and tooling: Selecting, designing, installing, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and fixtures
  • Problem-solving: Troubleshooting production line issues, recommending and implementing solutions
  • Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production staff
  • Cost and efficiency analysis: Estimating production costs, times, and staffing requirements, and gathering statistics to assess efficiency
  • Conduct advanced problem solving and root cause analysis activities
  • Kaizen participation and occasional kaizen leadership


Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or a related field OR equivalent education + experience
  • Strong lean/continuous improvement experience
  • Experience using CAD and 3D printing technology
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Time management, emotional intelligence, professionalism and adaptability (good soft skills)
  • General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Infor ERP (or similar) experience is a plus
