Assembler will be working on assigned production line and will be required to follow SOP for specific job assignment. Measure, cut and assemble door units. Assist a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. The assembler will either work on Patio Stock, Interior Stock, or Entry Stock work areas. Works under immediate supervision.
Responsibilities
* Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materials
* Ensure materials meet quality expectations
* Palletize, wrap, and label units as needed
* Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and
complete units
* Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product
specifications
* Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of
the job
* Verifies that components are being placed in the correct position per SOP
* Repeats tasks until entire door stack is complete
* Cleans up work area when shift ends
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment
* Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
* Solid verbal and written communication skills
* Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
* Strong analytical skills & Knowledge of all door components
* Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment such as Nail Gun, Screw Gun, Router, Tape Measure, Square
* Required to stand for long periods of time
* May involve some repetitive motions - bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers
* Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task
* Read and understand bill of materials
* Due to the open environment of the facility, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold
* Must be able to read a tape measure and have basic math skills
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Must demonstrate solid teamwork abilities
* Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service
* Follow all operational and safety SOP's as written
Qualifications
* Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent preferred not required
* 1-2 Years in the field or related area
Pay
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $20.00 + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to Kirkwood and may not be applicable to other locations.
