Position Summary & Role

The Senior Director of Business Strategy & Operations will partner closely with the Resilience leadership team to develop and implement the organization's strategic and operational plans. The role will lead the framework and action plan for the annual operating plan, drive process excellence initiatives, assist with capital budget financial management, reporting on statistics and analytics around key metrics. The Senior Director will oversee cross functional strategic projects and priorities, ensuring clarity, accountability and measurable progress.

This individual will develop and oversee the strategies, processes, systems, and technologies that enable the Resilience team to achieve peak performance. They will leverage strong analytical skills to drive continuous process improvement and identify potential growth opportunities. The role is also responsible for preparing materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings and enabling timely, objective decision-making on key program, operational, and business topics.

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with leaders across Operations, Commercial, HR, and Finance.

Essential Functions

  • Develop the strategic direction and goals for Resilience, ensuring a clear alignment with Company objectives
  • Lead key strategic priorities for Resilience, including the Annual Operating Plan
  • Partner with FP&A to support forecasting and monitoring, to ensure meeting yearly budget target.
  • In collaboration with FP&A, design and implement processes and systems to enhance forecasting accuracy and improve business value, with emphasis around capital projects.
  • Partner closely with Commercial to provide business analysis and strategic input for customer advancement
  • Identify and drive strategic priorities and business improvement opportunities within Resilience, including both one-time and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure project deliverables are well characterized with associated timing, resources, quality parameters, and interdependencies across lines
  • Partner closely with Operations leads within Resilience to ensure consistency and continuous learning across functions
  • Lead external benchmarking to evaluate Resilience's performance relative to peer CDMOs and recommend improvements.
  • Evaluate accretive growth opportunities for Resilience, including M&A, collaborations, and other synergistic opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence teams and manage relationships with external advisors on company and site acquisitions
  • Develop detailed cross-functional monthly operating reports to be shared with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare agendas and materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings that optimize and focus time on the highest priority areas and tracks actions and progress
  • This role does not have direct reports at this time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders at all levels in a biopharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate seamlessly within a diverse, complex organization
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies and operating models in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and drive actionable outcomes
  • Experience managing budgets, including capital forecasting, capacity planning, and opex management
  • Ability to make effective decisions in ambiguous situations with limited information
  • Exceptional prioritization skills, urgency, and flexibility
  • Demonstrated experience developing and presenting materials for senior leadership or Boards of Directors
  • Ability to travel ( 10%) and work non-standard hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in or supporting the biopharmaceutical or manufacturing industry
  • Bachelors Degree in related discipline
  • MBA or training in business analytics
  • Deep understanding of CDMO strategy, processes, and operations
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
  • High energy, sense of urgency, creativity, and decisiveness; ability to perform well under pressure
  • Ability to motivate others to maintain a high and consistent level of excellence in strategy development, project management, and outcomes

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $150,000.00 - $232,500.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
