The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center is recognized as one of the best in the nation. It fuses together a unique blend of extraordinary physicians, clinicians and physicians, and exceptional educational and research resources to help patients cope with mental health disorders. Psychologists provide evaluation, assessment, testing, and ongoing treatment of patients with psychiatric conditions, including various locations, including: emergency room, inpatient psychiatry unit, consultation, and ambulatory settings. They maintain documentation in compliance with the Office of Mental Health, OASAS and Joint Commission guidelines.

Essential Functions
* Complete evaluations, assessments, and testing, and provide diagnosis and case conceptualizations for patients
* Contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning, where required
* Complete documentation of clinical visits within 72 hours of the appointment
* Provide ongoing treatment of patients, including psychological testing when appropriate, makes referrals for psychopharmacological treatment when appropriate, and requests additional specialty consultation when appropriate - including comorbid medical conditions
* Function independently but utilizes supervision and consultation and as appropriate
* Maintain practice consistent with the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct
* Participate in departmental programs related to quality improvement, staff meetings, continuing education, risk management, diversity and inclusion
* Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the identification, reporting and appropriate interventions for survivors of individual and family violence, elder abuse and child abuse and neglect
* Conduct crisis assessments and intervenes appropriately and safely based on patient's risk to self, others or risk of self-neglect or other dangerousness

Qualifications:
* Psychologists require a License or Limited Permit issued by the New York State Education Department and must maintain continuous registration. They require PhD, PsyD, or EdD degree from an accredited University
* PhD required
* Completion of Postdoctoral training in Clinical or Health Service Psychology or related field
* Must be knowledgeable about the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of

Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR), including (when applicable to role) disorders found in children and adolescents (ages 4 and up), as well as adults
