Job Description (General Summary)

Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for an Environmental Health and Safety Generalist (Field Services).

This position is a remote role and requires a significant amount of travel (80% or more). It is not a requirement that the candidate live in Maryland, as travel is required within the Continental United States. The position would require you to travel to and be on our customer sites which include but are not limited to UPS, USPS, FedEx and Amazon - this position requires a negative pre-employment (criminal background) and pre-assignment drug test (including THC) due to customer worksite requirements.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • This individual will support our field operations during the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of package handling conveyor systems.
  • This role serves as the on-site point of contact for all Environmental, Health, and Safety matters, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and government regulations.
  • The EHS Generalist will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and compliance across diverse customer job sites.
  • Act as the primary EHS representative at customer installation and service sites.
  • Monitor and enforce safety procedures during conveyor system installations.
  • Conduct site-specific risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Report EHS metrics and findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to installation crews.
  • Collaborate with project managers and customer representatives to address EHS concerns.
  • Provide guidance on PPE usage, hazard communication, and emergency response protocols.
  • Respond to, investigate, and report any incidents, near-misses, or equipment malfunctions. This includes gathering evidence, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability to travel for extensive periods; as much as 80% or more per year.
  • Adapt to varying site conditions and customer requirements.

Position Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of EHS experience in industrial or construction environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local industrial and construction health and safety codes, regulations and standards.
  • Expertise in Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Crane, Rigging & Lifting Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks and Machine Safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (80%+).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Fall Protection Competent Person/Inspector.
  • Certified Rigger 1.
  • Powered Industrial Truck Trainer.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training and key skills. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.

Salary Range: $61,300 to $167,000
