Job Description

We are looking for a talented I&C Superintendent to join our dedicated team at our project site near Lexington, KY. In this role, you will lead specific construction site activities, including specific trades, and manage parts of the field operations on projects. You will also assist in ensuring that the subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely and in compliance with the contract documents and project schedule. Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting and assembling on-site testing reports, inspection reports, and completing Construction Completion Records for close-out documentation to the IPS Commissioning/Validation team and client. Additional Responsibilities
- Lead assigned vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals.
- Ensure achievement of safety objectives on assigned projects.
- Ensure achievement of corporate goals for assigned projects and that projects meet applicable quality requirements.
- Interact with clients at the site on assigned projects and promote positive relationships.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, closeout execution plans, and project schedules.
- Develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions to the project budget throughout the execution of the project.
- Assist with the development of change control documentation and related financial documentation.
- Oversee the work of assigned vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Participate in constructibility reviews of design documents.
- Assist with the procurement and coordination of all required extra-corporate project resources.
- Work with the Project Director, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Senior Superintendent to conduct pre-bid walk-through and descope meetings.
- Assist in the evaluation of requests for payment against actual performance.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor field T&M change requests.
- Facilitate communication between subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel, and produce documentation of communication between project participants.
- Support the RFI process.
- Assist in the production of daily reports of site conditions, including weather, force levels, and safety issues.
- Review job safety analysis documentation and other safety documentation as required by the corporate safety program.
- Ensure that all submittals are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.
- Assist in ensuring compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee startup activities of assigned trades (if included in the project scope).
- Oversee commissioning activities of assigned trades if included in the project scope.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
- 5+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline.
Context & Safety
- This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project.
- You may be assigned to the client site for an extended period.
- Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client's location is possible depending on the assignment.
- You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules.
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
- The employee is considered a field contractor supervisor and acts in a supervisory role for field work for IPS employees or subcontractors.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
- Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders as necessary.
Work Environment
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions.
- Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol.
Travel
- Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis to the client site or office.
- Work schedule may require flexibility, including availability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, as well as weekends.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
Safety
- This position is a safety-sensitive position.
- The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
