Additional Compensation Details:

  • $88,200K- $123,500K annually
  • Potential 90-day performance-based raise

Job Description

The Sales Manager for the Nature's World division of Charlie's Produce is responsible for driving sales, and marketing programs for Nature's World through Charlie's distribution centers and direct to customers. Their duties include leading two regional sales reports, communicating with Charlie's retail and food service sales teams, coordinating with the marketing team, and completing product research into industry trends. In addition to managing staff, the sales manager's job responsibilities include developing and researching marketing opportunities and sales strategies. Success is defined by increasing brand sales volume, profit margin, and preference with customers and consumers.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-driven, proactive, and a collaborative sales professional that is inspired to lead forward and fulfill our purpose of creating value for customers and Employee Owners. Directly and indirectly develop consumer promotion, sponsorship, and earned social plans to build brand equity and deliver results across both performance and shopper marketing tactics. Identify and collaboratively lead development of on-strategy innovation from ideation and concept testing through formulation, packaging development, and launch commercialization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes marketing and sales staff objectives by recruiting, selecting, training, and coaching employees
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits and scheduling quarterly or annual business reviews (move up list as higher priority)
  • Communicates job expectations by planning, monitoring, and reviewing job contributions
  • Responsible for new business goals assigned by GM
  • Development of seasonal sales plans to achieve sales goals
  • Plans and attends trade shows and conventions for the division
  • Prepares and completes sales action plans which include partnering with customers and Charlie's sales representatives to develop order guides, product promotions and product launches
  • Meets marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements and preparing annual budgets
  • Determines annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas of Nature's World products for regions
  • Identifies marketing opportunities by understanding consumer requirements to further strengthen or advance the product line with customer needs or trend tracking
  • Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends through sales communications with vendors and clients
  • Sales KPI/Metrics management
  • Maintain thorough communication between sales and other departments promoting corporate-wide success
  • Program development (core products, seasonal products, and unique snack solutions)
  • Researching and pricing for cost comparisons, supporting a continuous knowledge of the current product line
  • Creation and demonstration of presentations to potential and existing clients and vendors
  • This role will require 40%-60% travel, both local and out of state
  • All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality
Qualifications

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years minimum of produce, snack, or food industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience minimum in sales management
  • Proven track record in client development
  • A passion for exceeding customer services standards
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Have a forward-thinking mindset that is driven to look at what is coming next
  • A successful track record in negotiations
  • Excellent multi-tasking, and time management skills with the understanding of how to flex priorities as needed
  • An advanced emotional intelligence and successful people management track record
  • Maintain an understanding of the 'sense of urgency' required for high-paced sales success

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • 1+ year of produce sales software (preferably Retalix/AS400).
  • 1+ year Tableau or other business intelligence systems.
