OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY Be Bold. Supervise, direct and coordinate activities of any Duke University Branch Store or department within Stores Operations; administer established policies and procedures applicable to efficient and profitable store operations; assist Store Manager in such duties as may be assigned or delegated. Work Performed Supervise, direct and coordinate activities of assigned store or department which include merchandising, ordering, display, sales and inventory of the stores commodities and maintain certain financial reports and records pertinent to store operations. Plan and schedule work for the group, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of tasks. Advise the Manager of current support status and make recommendations for the resolution of internal problems or scheduling inconsistencies. Recommend various personnel functions relating to store operation including but not restricted to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Minimum Qualifications Education Work requires knowledge of general business and accounting principles usually acquired through two years post-secondary education in accounting or a related business field. Experience Work generally requires three years of experience in a retail setting to acquire knowledge of the complex aspects of store operations and supervision. Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $19.15 to USD $29.37.
