Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities Job Summary: A Mortgage Warehouse Underwriter II will prepare written loan analyses for new and existing lines for Mortgage Warehouse relationships ranging from $3,000,000 up to the bank's Mortgage Warehouse Lending Guidelines. He or she will also monitor existing lines through annual reviews. A Mortgage Warehouse Underwriter II will be expected to have knowledge and experience with moderately complex Warehouse relationships.. A Mortgage Warehouse Underwriter II should be proficient in warehouse lending and Bank policy and procedures. Position will also be responsible for reviewing a sampling of files post-closing to verify proper adherence with lending guidelines, policy and procedures. Promote good relations with all associates and departments within the Bank to maintain organization and efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collect and analyze detailed financial information about sellers, borrowers and associated guarantors to determine the level of credit that is appropriate for complex warehouse line relationships. Prepare 10-50 page written presentations for new warehouse lines, line modifications, and annual reviews. Presentations include identification of strengths, risks with applicable mitigating factors, an appropriate risk grade and recommendation regarding the warehouse facility decision. Approval will come from Loan Committees depending on the size of relationship. Will need to interact with warehouse management, senior management, warehouse clients and customers to evaluate credit worthiness of new relationships and potential deterioration of existing warehouse clients or borrowers. Think independently to present data, conclusions and recommendations when there may not be a predefined policy or procedure. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Adept at time management to meet strict deadlines and respond to high urgency requests from Management and/or Loan Officers. Ability to think critically and express conclusions in writing and verbally. Aptitude for quantitative analysis working with numerous variables, spreadsheets with large amounts of data, identifying/summarizing patterns and trends. Must be a quick study for new tasks, procedures, software/technology as well as conceptual philosophy behind a diverse set of tasks related to risk management of warehouse lines. Strong organizational skill sets. Strong attention to detail. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Warehouse Loan Funding System, and Credit Quest. Demonstrated success in a fast-paced service environment. Strong communication skills; both interpersonal and written are necessary. Ability to successfully perform work independently and in a team environment. Familiarity with loan documents is a plus. Job Qualifications: Must possess working knowledge of underwriting principles for moderately complex Warehouse Lines. Bachelor's Degree with significant accomplishment in finance and accounting or commensurate experience and training in credit analysis for business relationships. Minimum of 5 years of commercial underwriting experience with an emphasis on credit and risk management for mortgage warehouse clients. What do I do now?
