Job Description

The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of offsite volumetric construction methods and processes while ensuring alignment with MiTek's Distributed Construction methodology. This role serves as the primary liaison between MiTek and general contractors utilizing Distributed Construction to build hotels. The position is primarily responsible for onboarding general contractors to the methodology and supporting them throughout the assembly and construction phases of projects. This position is a key stakeholder internally to represent the voice of the customer to our innovation team.

A critical aspect of this role is applying deep knowledge of construction means and methods including sequencing, logistics, and integration of MiTek's methodology to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:



  • Customer Engagement & Collaboration



    • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and proactive management of expectations.

    • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.

    • Represent the voice of the customer in innovation development efforts.




  • Implementation Leadership



    • Oversee and manage the execution of offsite volumetric construction means and methods across multiple projects.

    • Apply expertise in construction sequencing, site logistics, and integration of offsite assembly into traditional workflows.




  • Follow prescribed assembly methodology and processes to enable clients to successfully implement the Distributed Construction platform for specific projects, including:



    • Kitting

    • Pre-assembly

    • Cassette assembly

    • Volumetric assembly

    • Finish assembly

    • Site stack




  • Process Optimization & Quality Assurance



    • Facilitate testing, validation, and documentation of worker-centered activities.

    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality requirements throughout all phases of construction.

    • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency through modular construction techniques.




  • Learning Delivery & Enablement



    • Lead learning production delivery to completion through defined phases, milestones, deliverables, and approvals.

    • Identify and share training opportunities; leverage these opportunities to mature MiTek project delivery processes.




  • Performance Measurement & Reporting



    • Define metrics and measurements with stakeholders to assess production performance.

    • Maintain accurate records of project progress, issues, and resolutions; provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.




Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 15+ years in construction management, with at least 5 years in modular or offsite construction.

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects.

  • Demonstrated expertise in construction means and methods, including sequencing, logistics, and modular integration.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Deep understanding of modular construction processes and distributed construction approaches.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and construction software.

  • Customer-centric mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.

  • Certifications: PMP, CM-Lean, or equivalent preferred.
