Mortgage Underwriter

Review all loan files, as submitted, prior to closing to ensure that loans meet all secondary and investor guidelines. Approve, suspend, or deny each loan as appropriate and clear applicable conditions.

Essential Duties

1. Review each file to ensure Secondary and Investor guidelines are met.
2. Ensure compliance regulations are met.
3. Clear all conditions once processor has met the conditions.
4. Make management aware of key issues.
5. Assist in training as needed.
6. Work with Encompass to make sure that all paperless Underwriting documents are properly placed for all future use by the Closing, Funding, and Shipping departments.
7. Work under maximum stress, with short deadlines, anxious processors, LOs, and title companies, and heavy workloads.
