Manufacturing Industrial Maintenance - Team Lead

ProAmpac is hiring a Maintenance Lead Technician to take ownership of equipment uptime, technical excellence, and team development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is hands-on and highly visible. You will lead by example on the floor, solve complex mechanical and electrical problems, and coach technicians to perform at their best.

What You Will Do
Safety First. Always.
  • Work safely and actively identify, address, and coach others on potential safety risks
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, OEM, and company safety standards
  • Support safety committee actions, inspections, and follow-ups
  • Maintain equipment to established safety and operational standards

Lead and Develop People
  • Provide daily leadership and positive influence within the maintenance team
  • Train, mentor, and develop technicians at all experience levels
  • Apply company policies consistently and fairly
  • Support a culture of honesty, accountability, teamwork, and transparency

Equipment Reliability and Maintenance
  • Perform advanced industrial mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests including facility repairs
  • Support and execute preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ensure materials, documentation, and instructions are in place for effective maintenance
  • Perform all duties at or above a Technician Level II capability

Projects and Continuous Improvement
  • Lead installation of new equipment and major upgrades
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Facilities on machine improvements
  • Lead process improvement and machine development projects
  • Identify inefficiencies and bring forward practical, lasting solutions

Organization and Documentation
  • Maintain clean, organized shops and storage areas
  • Manage spare parts inventory at effective levels
  • Maintain work orders, safety documentation, and maintenance records
  • Collaborate on technical procedures and equipment schematics

Purchasing and Cost Control
  • Purchase parts and components to support safe, efficient operations
  • Work with vendors to control costs and identify alternatives
  • Utilize visual purchasing systems and CMMS software
  • Manage maintenance spending and support annual budget goals


What You Bring
Education and Experience
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 5+ years in industrial maintenance or engineering service environments
  • Manufacturing experience on similar equipment preferred

Technical Expertise
  • Advanced industrial electrical and mechanical experience
  • Ability to read and modify electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Strong troubleshooting and reasoning skills
  • Experience with PLC logic, CAD, E-Plan preferred
  • CMMS software experience required

Skills That Matter
  • Ability to work independently and lead without constant supervision
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills
  • Advanced math and measurement skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excel experience preferred
  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate others

Certifications and Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport
  • Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift certifications required


Physical and Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with complex machinery and operational hazards
  • PPE required including hearing, eye, and foot protection
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs individually and 70 lbs with team assistance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in variable temperatures
