During that time, our innovative team has been designing and manufacturing mission-critical, high reliability optical sensors for satellites providing guidance, navigation, situational awareness, and control capabilities. Redwire Space Components, LLC has a current opportunity for a Hardware Engineer Intern . We're looking for a college student who is working on a degree in Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (Bachelor's, or Master's), to help contribute to the advancement of our sensor technologies.


Responsibilities


  • Assignments will include assisting with design and test of development or flight electronic systems, associated ground support, or special test equipment for spacecraft projects
  • Assist in designing, verifying, or qualifying circuits for high reliability and mission critical applications.
  • Design and build test fixtures or other support equipment including interface, mechanical, and automation.
  • Proving out a design using simulation and mathematics
  • Writing Python scripts for driving test automation or analysis.
  • Working with multi-disciplined teams, including Software, Mechanical, Test, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams.


Ideal Experience


  • A rising junior or higher currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited university and pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical engineering or another related field
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering fundamentals in field of analog or digital disciplines
  • Experience with applying either microcontrollers, FPGAs, or embedded processors to solve engineering problems.
  • Familiar with design tools such as Altium, SolidWorks, MathWorks, GIT, Spice, or similar ECAD solutions.

  • Passionate about the space industry, have a high level of energy, a drive to work in a team/collaborative environment and a desire to excel in all aspects of your work
  • We are looking for candidates who strive for excellence in all aspects of their College or University experience as demonstrated by the results of their coursework, projects, lab work, workshops, internships and other collegiate activities. We are also looking for candidates who are creative, resourceful, open-minded and driven to succeed
  • For all candidates, we are looking for interns who havestrong problem-solving skills
  • US citizenship required


Hourly Rate: $26.00 - $29.00/hour
