Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Associate for our Construction Consulting Practice in New York, NY. This role is a construction project management position, focused on end-to-end delivery of individual construction projects from initiation through closeout.

This position is intended for candidates with direct, hands-on experience managing construction projects, including coordination with designers, contractors, utilities, and owners during active project execution.



You will be responsible for

  • Provide full-lifecycle construction project management for individual projects, from project initiation and planning through construction, commissioning, and closeout
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, contracts, change management, risk, and quality at the project level
  • Review and interpret design drawings and technical documents to support constructability reviews, coordination, and issue resolution
  • Coordinate day-to-day project activities with engineers, contractors, designers, utilities, inspectors, and owner representatives
  • Track and report on project schedule, cost, risks, and issues, and proactively drive progress.
  • Lead and support conflict resolution among project stakeholders, balancing technical, schedule, cost, and relationship considerations
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and well-organized project documentation and reporting.
  • Provide clear, professional verbal and written communication of project status, risks, and decisions to internal leadership and clients


You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field (Advanced degrees, professional registration, or certifications are preferred but not required)
  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience managing construction projects, including responsibility for project delivery through closeout
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and design documents
  • Experience working on utility, infrastructure, or other complex construction projects is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple project workstreams while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent conflict-resolution and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to navigate challenging situations professionally
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation and executive-level project updates
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to real-time construction issues
  • Proficiency with construction-related software, including Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required)

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.



Salary Range

USD $107,000.00 - USD $132,000.00 /Yr.
