Data Center Foreman

Job Summary

The Foreman oversees daily field operations for infrastructure installation projects, ensuring work quality, safety compliance, and on-time execution. This role coordinates closely with project management, leads multiple crews, monitors material needs, and supports project delivery through effective communication, documentation, and leadership. The Foreman evaluates team performance, provides training recommendations, and ensures all work aligns with customer standards and project specifications.

Job Responsibilities




  • Report directly to the onsite project manager and work in alignment with project schedules, directives, and requests.



  • Gather weekly updates from leads and submit reports to project management.



  • Attend weekly coordination meetings with the project manager.



  • Oversee scheduled milestones, productivity expectations, and field labor performance.



  • Monitor site safety conditions and ensure adherence to all safety requirements.



  • Coordinate with field engineers and other trade contractors to support effective project execution.



  • Manage labor resources and support work assignments across project sites.



  • Review completed work with QA/QC specialists prior to walkthroughs with field engineers.



  • Ensure all work meets customer quality standards and project expectations.



  • Assess strengths and development needs of team leads and recommend relevant training.



  • Ensure team leads follow all customer rules, guidelines, and processes.



  • Validate project data and track quality, efficiency, and delivery outcomes.



  • Verify required materials for project completion.



  • Participate in customer design and build review meetings as requested.



  • Support new deployments and live-site production requests.



  • Encourage adoption of new technologies, tools, and software in coordination with project management.



  • Ensure all safety standards and required certifications are met throughout installation activities.




Job Requirements




  • Five or more years of experience in cabling technologies, rack infrastructure, and management of large-scale build projects preferred.



  • Ability to lead multiple crews effectively.



  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.



  • Ability to forecast client needs and labor requirements.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.



  • Ability to document lessons learned and maintain accurate project paperwork.



  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and port maps.



  • Experience managing midsize to large projects in a fast-paced environment.



  • Understanding of infrastructure builds, components, copper and fiber installations, terminations, certifications, and troubleshooting.



  • Certified cabling test technician (CFTT) and certified fiber installer (CFI), or equivalent certifications.



  • Strong customer service skills.



  • Knowledge of regional installation standards and codes.



  • Ability to document team strengths, development, and growth.



  • Clear understanding of job safety requirements and points of contact.




Physical Requirements




  • Frequent walking, standing, and bending, with occasional sitting.



  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, visual, and listening skills.



  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment, tools, and computers.



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.



  • Ability to pull cables as needed.



  • Ability to climb ladders and work on raised platforms.
