The Role

The Outdoor Harvest Supervisor oversees all post-harvest and packaging operations for outdoor-grown flower, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to network standards. This role leads and develops site teams, managing workflow from live plant harvest through final product preparation. The supervisor partners closely with cultivation, post-harvest, and production leaders to monitor KPIs, maintain accurate inventory, and drive continuous quality improvement.


Responsibilities

  • Follow network best practices and standards for post-harvest and packaging procedures.
  • Supervise the Outdoor Post-Harvest and Packaging site teams.
  • Coordinate with other members of site leadership to manage a seamless transition of product from the live plant in the outdoor cultivation space to high quality end-product flower ready for packaging.
  • Coordinate with VPs of Cultivation, Director of Post-Harvest, General Manager/Operation Managers, Outdoor Regional Head Grow, Outdoor Head Grower, and Outdoor Cultivation Supervisor in all aspects of Post-Harvest flower quality, providing detailed feedback on KPIs and progress.
  • Identify and escalate any issues that will impact KPIs and flower quality to local and Outdoor leadership teams.
  • Manage all aspects of flower quality retention and post-harvest processes onsite.
  • Manage flower processing for outdoor allocation including but not limited to smokeable and fresh frozen.
  • Maintain accurate WIP (work in process) inventory and update systems with inventory data accordingly including but not limited to performing regular physical inventory counts.
  • Ensure accurate input, tracking, and reporting of harvest transactions, site KPIs (using the web-based KPI tracker), packaging transfers, and all other required data.
  • Ensure third-party flower testing is completed and tracked in accordance with GTI and state requirements, and that products are properly dispositioned based on test results.
  • Train staff using SOPs, TAMUs, and other resources to ensure proficiency in harvest, breakdown, trimming, sorting, remediation, testing, and packaging.
  • Provide feedback on flower quality, machinability, and post-harvest processability to Outdoor Grow leadership.
  • Coordinate with the Production Scheduler to schedule outdoor flower packaging to meet or exceed monthly goals, while adhering to efficiency expectations, packaging quality standards, and the quality release process.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of cannabis experience in growing or post-harvest processing
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required, Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership responsibility with a proven track record of building and developing teams preferred
  • Strong understanding of cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further understanding
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a demanding and fast-paced start-up environment
  • Experience with data collection and data entry into Microsoft Excel
  • Research skills and familiarity with scientific method preferred but not required
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgment, common sense and resourcefulness
  • Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all employee population levels
  • Ability to deliver specific organizational goals and effectively develop, grow and manage a team to achieve objectives



Safety & Compliance

  • Be aware of hazards in the workspace.
  • Retain and understand department specific training.
  • Report safety incidents/ concerns and comply with follow-up actions.
  • Be compliant with area safety requirements, state regulations and PPE requirements.
  • Follow GMP, biosecurity, sanitation or other quality and compliance requirements.
  • Perform record keeping accurately and completely as directed by a lead or supervisor.
  • Maintain and calibrate tools, equipment and machinery as directed by a lead or supervisor.
  • Report and escalate safety & quality concerns.



Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds (and up to 100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with product.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, including high heat, precipitation, direct sun exposure, and elevated humidity for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in extreme cold in industrial freezers while adhering to safety protocols and utilizing proper PPE.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
  • Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).



Additional Requirements

  • Must passany and allrequired background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
